THE KNIFE: The knife is the one object that can prepare your food, start your fire, build your shelter, craft your tools and defend your life, all at once. At the same time, the knife has long been an object of beauty for every culture on our planet. That is why it is my goal that all of my knives can handle each of these tasks while expressing the personal style of its carrier with its own individual character. To reach this goal, I hand forge each of my creations out of the highest quality materials and meticulously craft each knife by hand. No knife ever leaves my door until it is one that I personally would be proud to wear.

 

 

FORGING BLADES: Forging is the art of shaping metal using localized compressive forces. I use a blacksmithing hammer and manpower to mold the steel into the shape of a blade. When I hammer forge, I’m not limited to the width of the stock and there is less waste during the original shaping process. I then use a stock removal technique to form the knife blade angle. I intentionally prefer to leave these hammer marks into the blade so that the owner can see a sense of uniqueness and craftsmanship involved in its creation. However all of my hand forged knives can be designed without these marks at the request of the buyer. Because of the hand forged process every blade is an artisanal creation custom hammered out a hot bar of steel then heat treated to produce a knife of superior quality and character.
